Thats always a tough question to answer for me...I love so many of them, if I had to though Id probably go with a top 10 to be fair as they are all so closely battling for #1. I am also sticking with contemporary as the classic Universals and many of Vincent Price's roles in earlier horror cinema are all #1 in my opinion. If I were forced to pick 3 Id probably stick with the same top 3.

1. Dawn Of The Dead (closely followed with the others in Romero's series of "dead" films)

2. From Dusk Till Dawn

3. The Exorcist (original)

4. The Shining (original Kubrick version)

5. Army Of Darkness tied with Evil Dead 2

6. Halloween 1 (Original)

7. Nightmare On Elm Street 1 (original)

8. An American Werewolf In London

9. Killer Klowns From Outer Space

10. Re-Animator (original)

Then these would also so closely be followed by most early Carpenter, Craven, Romero, Fulci, Argento, and Peter Jackson films, as well as the early Full Moon stuff I grew up on like Puppet Master, Subspecies, Demonic Toys, etc...

I have a very large collection of DVDs and Blu Rays and about 95% of it is horror...so its tough to pick favorites...lol
