Day #2 is down for Buffalo's newest haunt, District of the Dead. It's amazing how fast the summer has moved along since being back from Phoenix. The amount of work still ahead of us as a first season haunt is something we're definitely looking forward to as this dream becomes a reality and all the experience to come along with it!

The website should be running and finalized by the end of the week. Will keep fellow haunters and enthusiasts posted, hopefully with some "in progress" pictures as well!

59 more days until opening night! Nerve rattling. :D

Hello ladies and gents. Below is the link to our Facebook page where you can view the album of some build progress in the last week.

We finally started doing some of the fun stuff today since the first half of attraction is built, fire-proofed, and painted. Much, much more work ahead of us!

And of course, we can't show all the progress. Wouldn't want to be giving away any of our first season surprises quite yet. ;)

DON PABLO'S ;)

The building has been vacant for about 11 years! But it is an excellent location. From what info we've been given I guess Don Pablo's was only in business for 2-3 years there. Building was actually built brand new for them in 1998 ish.

We are actually thinking about selling T-shirts at the end along with our free drink/souvenir cup giveaway.

It we do t-shirts we'll probably have one of each size on display that will be "made to order" after customer pays and fills out their info. At least that way we eliminate overhead cost and don't have a surplus of t-shirts that may or may not sell. It's still undecided. My District of the Dead crew and I all have black matching t-shirts with large image on back, small on front. I believe a cool idea for selling shirts at the end of the haunt would be to basically keep our design how it is but add a line such as, "I survived District of the Dead" etc.

We also received our building banners a couple days ago. Anyone that wants to see some of those pictures I added them to the Facebook page album yesterday. The banners look great! But we still have to put the giant one on the side of building this weekend. :D

Except for a few minor details yet to be done we finished the first half of the attraction yesterday. It looks awesome. Still can't believe my dream is a reality right now. I've got many, MANY more pics of finished rooms and different areas, but those won't be on FB until after the season is over. We're a smaller first season haunt and we don't want to give too much away! But those who come this Halloween season are certainly in for a surprise or two
