WATCH BABY... we are doing everything we can to promote the website and help haunters this coming Halloween.

Let us know what you thought of the episode!!! The whole episode is about Hauntworld.com

That's great. What network carries the show and what time?

A new show, I think they filmed us first? HGTV-maybe Discovery or another channel I never heard of before...program's title:"Creepiest Homes in America".
They were interveiwing my Wife when I was away:"Tell us what Jim is really like."
Jessica:"He's a really nice guy who doesn't drink, do drugs no matter what some people say after they see the house and his artwork."
"Now tell us what he is REALLY LIKE!"
Jessica: "I just answered that question."
I didn't care for such a method or intent on their part.
Recorded images can be edited to pretty much "say" whatever they need to make it "Say".
Just make the choice beforehand how much you trust such people to not edit the product to tell a sensationalized lie(s).
My Father was a work-a-holic, no chemicals involved (Except chocolate) I guess by some people's standards I am too.
I have just always liked to build, accomplish the things I envisioned, which usually requires long hours, all of which lie beyound many people's scope of how things have to happen if you are going to create something involving your own ideas.

I checked the listings and I didn't see any show by that name. Are you sure it's on next Tuesday on A&E?

DA, it's on A & E on Tuesday at 10 pm.

Larry congrats, Stew I once thought that this one company was the dumbest I had ever seen. Now that I do $500,000 a year in bussiness with them I thick they are the smartest company around. I think the show is some what staged but you have seen the behind the scene so you could tell us. It just seems like some of those guys could not be that dumb when it comes to shipping. If you are on the show do you get a preview before it shows nationally? Can't wait to see the show, I have already set the DVR to record it.

07-07-2013, 06:32 PM
Couple things... I don't love any show because we are on it. I'm just letting people know it comes on this Tuesday and will feature Hauntworld.com and I think that is cool. Hauntworld objective is to help haunted house owners... period. We'll do everything we can to achieve that goal. Stew you only post when you want to whip up drama... and again this time you didn't fail. LOL

The show is on this Tuesday on A and E Shipping Wars.

07-07-2013, 08:08 PM
Not really drama oriented...i was just sayin...I change my mind all the time....

07-07-2013, 08:13 PM
Stew, Larry agrees with you! ""09-28-2012 Dumbest show on TV. Its so fake and so stupid! Just my opinion! Larry "

Sorry Larry, I couldn't resist. :)

07-07-2013, 09:07 PM
Careful Barry! Stew already posted that and it got deleted lol.

Hauntworld! Shhhhhhhhhhh! ;)

Hahahaha. It's ok Larry, the show does suck, but it's good publicity for the few dozen people who watch it. Hauntworld: taking over television one unpopular tv show at a time. Nothing beats Larry on the Food Network judging cakes!

No but in all seriousness, who cares what Larry said about the show in the past when another haunter was already on it...it's still publicity and no one who sees th show and looks at hauntworld will see Larry trash talking the show, take the free advertising and roll with it. :)

One of my fav. shows, looking forward to it!

Careful Barry! Stew already posted that and it got deleted lol.

Hauntworld! Shhhhhhhhhhh! ;)

I wouldn't be the first time. LOL However, I do agree with Larry on both counts. I am not a fan of the show but I do believe the publicity is good. That is one thing Larry has always done, get the word out about the industry.

Anytime a show calls and wants to feature the haunted house industry I'm going to do it, or forward them onto other people who can help them. I've already been contacted about shows at least 10 times this Spring and Summer... we want to feature the haunted house industry. It doesn't matter if I'm featured, your featured, or someone else is featured anything national is positive no matter how good the show is or isn't.

Shipping Wars is a popular show with 1.5 million viewers each week... not to mention re-runs. I've actually watched Shipping Wars because we are being featured on the show its like all the rest of them... its entertaining. I'm totally over Storage Wars I can't even watch it anymore... I know that was Shane's favorite show but I doubt he even likes it anymore.

I like Shipping Wars now like I use to like Storage Wars. But my favorite shows what I like or don't like has nothing to do with getting PR for the industry... this will be a great thing for us to help the industry.

That is all that matters.

On the subject however... my favorite shows are: Walking Dead, The Voice and as for reality shows I like Pawn Stars but that is getting long in the tooth.

I don' actually watch many shows I'm more of a movie guy. But I have been watching Shipping Wars here and there.

These show tend to run their course and when they run out of new stuff and are just redoing a old story line just with a little twist then the ratings fall. I agree with Larry I used to love Storage Wars and Shipping Wars, but don't watch it any more. But I will be watching Shipping Wars on Tuesday. Great to see some good PR for our industry and getting people to see us as more as a main stream industry. I have had people that have watched Making Monsters come up to me and tell me how cool it is and what a great new industry the haunt business is. I just think to my self where the hell have you been. Larry keep up the good PR work this does all of us some good and I don't care what show you are on its good for haunters. Well maybe not Americas Most Wanted.

07-08-2013, 12:52 PM
I have several friends who have seen similar episodes about Haunters on other reality TV shows, and it does give us a new level of legitimacy. I think a lot of people think this is some form of sick hobby where we sink thousands of dollars with no return. People are starting to see this is a big business, and we are serious about what we do (it just so happens we have a lot of fun doing it!). Now that they are starting to see various aspects of are business, people are talking!

BTW, one of my favorites was a particular group of guys that catch varmints of all types. They were sent to a haunt in LA to capture possums in a haunt. Hilarious.

07-08-2013, 01:32 PM
DA, it's on A & E on Tuesday at 10 pm.

Thanks Noah! Is is listed as high tech redneck? None of the shows give hint to rednecks or hauntworld.

Who saw the show ... I thought it was my favorite show I've ever been on. I was laughing the whole time. Larry

My favorite part is when they almost broke your foot and the guy tells you to grow some.

07-09-2013, 09:29 PM
I'm not familiar with this show. Is that guy always so sarcastic or just an act for TV? I'd have had a hard time not knocking him out.

Jolly Pumpkin
07-09-2013, 09:31 PM
Shipping Wars makes Storage Wars look like Masterpiece Theater.

07-09-2013, 10:40 PM
Not sure what was scarier the hillbillies or Larry's almost amputation?!?!?! :) Curious why you didn't show the Darkness anywhere in footage?

07-10-2013, 08:48 AM
I just watched it, it was funny! Don't know how much it really promoted since Roy was insulting it the whole time and they showed that one of Larry's guys accidentally unplugged the air compressor lol but it was neat and entertaining nonetheless!

07-10-2013, 10:43 AM
The show was about the magazine not the haunt. We want to promote the industry whenever we can. Many times we get to promote the industry through The Darkness. I can't tell you how many interviews I've done on national TV at the darkness where I mostly talk about haunted houses across America or the industry, or whatever. I'm all for promoting the industry as a whole... in the end that is better for me as well. We need people to see our industry in a positive light!

The show was so much fun... I loved the episode!!!

07-10-2013, 12:04 PM
Kudos to Larry for agreeing to participate; you were taking a chance on the outcome. You have no control over what ends up on the program. Overall it provided a good look at the cover of the magazine and hopefully that translates into exposure for the industry. I thought the Hillbilly props from Unit 70 looked great. I donít normally watch the program, but since it related to our industry, I tuned in for the night.

Our face painting company (Funhouse Faces) participated in a program called Super Sweet 16 a few years ago. It was comical listening to the show producers trying to stir up controversy amongst the kids at the party. Thatís what these reality shows do; they try to create a storm for their viewers to enjoy!

I enjoyed the show!

I would love a little behind-the-scenes info though... Like how scripted is it?

Roy is just an ass! Over all he probably isn't too bad but he is outspoken on all the episodes. Larry was a good sport for being on the program! And taking that abuse publicly on television. LOL! Great for the industry far as promoting.

07-11-2013, 10:54 AM

Pee Wee... seriously? LOL

07-11-2013, 02:05 PM
I can't put my finger on it just a certain look you had reminded me of a part from Pee Wee's Big Adventure! Shane and it's I thought it was great!

07-11-2013, 03:19 PM
Was this the part?

07-15-2013, 01:16 AM
Okay I'm going to admit something... I owned a PEE WEE DOLL! I kept it in the box and had one that I pulled the string on... I loved Pee Wee one of my favorite movies of all time is Pee Wee Big Adventure. However I don't see how I look like or act like Pee Wee... but for those who don't know me I can do SEVERAL impressions almost dead on. I do voices all kinds... and Pee Wee is one I use to be able to do spot on! But I haven't seen much of him so I probably can't do it anymore... I did watch his HBO special.

Who doesn't love PEE WEE ... c'mon now.

PS SHANE Patti is in Alabama right now! You should give her a buzz tell her to stop by!

LOL! Just sat down a bit ago over dinner and watched the episode. Yah Ide say you took one for the team Larry!!!!!!!!!!............. The greater good!!!!! LOL! Other than getting your foot smashed...... it looked like it ended as a high note!!! When I seen that Roy had the job I almost thought this might not be good! Didn't know if you guys would have a through down or something!!! lol!

But definitely entertaining! Looked like you were more the less along for the ride...... but what the heck... Its good advertising as you said... Just puts your magazine and the industry in general out there for all to see. Nice job with the show!

07-24-2013, 01:27 PM
Saw it last night, Larry your the bigger man for not punching Roy in the face, I hate that guy, he never has anything good to say. The props looked AWESOME!!!!!! in the right setting that is going to be way cool.

07-26-2013, 06:11 AM
Just saw it!
They made the industry look like pathetic fools. Why did not anyone step in???

There is no frickin way I would have them call me an idiot, an amature several times...
Why would Larry let them?

This was not good for us in any way shape or form....

Now I know why Fear Factory and XtremeCreators never aired because they said specifically told the show, they will not be belittled, degrated or made to look unprofessional.....

Thats exactly what that show is looking for....

To bad, we triggered the impaler on Roy and it almost took his head off, he was pissed.

How come they did not show that! It was Great! Roy got pissed and told us to shut it off....lol

07-27-2013, 08:13 PM
I have to agree with Darksidestew...

I watched it the night it aired and thought it painted Larry (ie Haunt Owners) in a negative light.
I was so excited for the show (I don't watch it otherwise) since it was haunt related...but they made Larry and his crew look like clowns and called them names and were totally not professional with how they handle business.

Otherwise the stuff looked good and it got exposure for the magazine out there...but I wanted to see some smack thrown back at them.

Just my thoughts...

08-13-2013, 02:21 AM
Couple things...

1) Can anyone who taped this send me a copy of the show on DVD ... I deleted the show on accident. My kids didn't even get to see it... if someone will email me darkrides@sbcglobal.net if you can burn a copy and send it to me I can make it worth your wild! Please.

2) As for them calling me an idiot or whatever... let me just say this that guy was 5'7 and probably weighed about 150 pounds. For those who don't know me (LOL) I use to do everything from kickbox, wrestle, box you name it! Although I'm somewhat out of shape now... working on fixing that but I have a temper and in no way and you can ask anyone who works for me ahhh if that guy would have called me a name he would have been bounced. If he would have disrespected me to my face sparks would have flown big time... we would have had a legendary show on Shipping Wars! LOL. These days I'm pretty tamed Tiger so I'm much more calm than I use to be so I'll take a bit more than I use to but still no way he disrespects me to my face... fact is I call myself an idiot 50 times a day. LOL

The reality is he didn't really disrespect us he was just being the way he was on all the episodes he's on... overall he was a fairly interesting person. I think after they start editing the show they add all that stuff... that is just the way they do that show. I didn't take it personal at all... fact is he called me a name because I suggested he'd fit right into the photo shoot because of the hillbillies. I thought that was funny...

Anyway overall I have some thick skin so nothing he didn't bothered me one bit... Overall I just thought it was funny!!! I'm getting teased all the time now about my foot... so please don't ask but if you must know my foot is fine! LOL

08-13-2013, 10:28 AM
No need for the tough guy keyboard act  all of us know Roy would smash Pee Wee lol.

08-18-2013, 10:15 AM
If larry would have gotten mad and maybe even hit Roy that would have made haunts look bad. Roy being a ass and larry being the bigger man made haunts look professional.

Of that idiot motorcycle builder show when the Father threw things across the shop convinced me to turn it off and never waste my time watching that show, but then the 1950's wrestling matches were fake too and many people made a lot of money from that nonesense....."Television. the vast wasteland!" -Marshall Mcluin(sp) What would he think now with 80 channels?
The really sad thing about the 1950's wrestling was it emptied the streets here in this small town on what used to be busy Saturday (shopping) nights.

10-16-2013, 11:52 PM
FINALLY... we got this online so you can view and laugh at me all you want. Trust me I know you'll laugh at me and I'm okay with it! Larry

Sad to report that Roy who was involved in our appearance on Shipping Wars died at the age of 49

04-09-2014, 09:20 PM
Hauntworld might be on Shipping Wars again... can't say for what but look out here we go AGAIN! Does anyone want to see my foot actually get broken this time around. LOL
