I am building a crypt facade that will have a 6.5 foot door that will drop foreward onto the floor (hinged on the bottom of the door as opposed to the sides) creating a loud slam as the actor comes running out of the crypt. I have seen this effect in several haunts and it is quite startling. I am interested in getting any information on the mechanism of this prop if anyone has any experience. Specifically the mechanism for pulling the door back up into position and any hints on the hinge mechanism and reinforcement of the door to ensure stability. This prop will sit back and a fence will separate guests from the mechanism.
