Okay look here is the deal... we're creating a new survey program that will not only be uploaded to Hauntworld, but also every profile within our system. In other words on your own profile you can create surveys of your clients on your profile. However this feature does not yet work. So I'm going to have to do this best of vote the old fashion way...

COPY what you see below and paste it into an email, and vote for each one and email it to me at darkrides@sbcglobal.net. You can only vote ONCE, per email address. I don't care if you vote for your own or someone else's it doesn't matter to me. You have exactly 5 days to send this to me.

Please watch the videos from the other thread before voting. I have deleted all of the posts but the videos. Have fun! If I can get this up before the end of this month of if someone knows a good survey program I can use temporary let me know. Otherwise post here or EMAIL ME at darkrides@sbcglobal.net

Larry, I e-mailed you about this, my home haunt is called Farmers Cemetery, please change the name. It's not the greatest haunt but it is a great story and I would like it called by what I named it. Thank you.

Second Look. The first one is an artistic version and the second a straight photo montage including some build photos. Last year we had over 30 actors and actresses in the haunt. We are only open 2 nights a year but managed to have over 1400 guests in the 8 hours of operation. Some people think that ice and myself are a little off because this gets worked on all year long for only 8 hours of being opened. This year we are going to be opened for 5 nights and will need 40 plus actors and actresses for all of the changes and additions that have come out of my sisters mind. For living in a deed restricted community with a property owners association you would think that we would have problems but they have embraced it and it has become a community event.

Hi Larry,

You could check out polldaddy.com, I was going to use it for an online poll we were doing, I liked the fact that it utilizes both IP blocking and cookies for eliminating duplicate votes to prevent ballot box stuffing. You also have the choice to display the results or not, which also can factor in. It's a free service and very easy to set up and use. Much easier than counting all the email votes you're going to get. It generates HTML code that you should be able to cut and paste right into a topic on the forum here, or you can post a link to a remote page. It also has a paid premium service which offers even more reporting features if you want them. Check it out:

http://www.polldaddy.com

Chris

** Just remembered something, the basic account is limited to 100 responses, so you would probably need the premium service, there were some other sites I checked out as well, I'll see if I can dig them up

As posted before on the first thread by myself and someone else, Turbidite Manor is NOT a home haunt. It is a professional haunted attraction and should be nominated as such.

One more thing I have to say....

There are tons of really cool haunts in this, some of them long time favorites with years of power behind them for sure. I mean, you expect good things from the Darkness, or any of the older well known shows.

But 4 haunts have really caught my eye be cause they are NEW. Now they may not actually be NEW but they have really burst on the scene THIS year, IMHO.

For Make-up and video production value it is THE SCAREHOUSE.

CHAMBERS OF THE MAUSOLEM for amazing custom creatures

For over the top sets and set pieces it is HAUNTED OVERLOAD and THE HOUSE OF TORMENT. ( from those recent photos)

They have all sort have really done some NEW things and if there was a NEW haunt (even though they are not all new per se...) category they have my attention!

Sort of like when we all first saw photos from Terror on the Fox a few years ago and said WOW! (or some of the Spookywoods stuff last year)

Hoochie really did new stuff with gore effects and video this year as well, but they are old dogs like me...(Heck...Older!)

Thanks!

Thanks a lot Ben! All the haunts you mentioned are awesome. The bar has been set so high by you guys over the years that new haunts have to really step it up a few notches to stand out. We still have a lot to learn but I think we are off to a good start.

I love how all the older haunters have been helping us newer pro and home haunters out by promoting the industry in a way that makes us stand out as primary seasonal entertainment venues and also provide us with the products and services we need to grow. If we all work together we could become one of the most anticipated forms of entertainment in the country. But, that is still quite a few years away which is evident by the fact that not many kids in my school look forward to the haunts in our market opening; so if all of us promote with each other we could have these kids, their families and, friends from other schools flocking to our haunts which is what should be happening in all markets.

The two key words here are: Teamwork and Cooperation

AGAIN LET ME SAY ... YOU WILL NOT HURT MY FEELINGS if you don't vote for Darkness. 80% of everyone has voted for The Darkness and ZERO percent has voted for Creepyworld so I guess that offsets it. LOL

Vote for the Darkness is you TRULY feel it is worthy of your vote!

Take a look at the video and vote ,we need some new blood for the top 13 . Make sure you check out the fire spitting monster ,starts at 10ft tall and goes up to 30ft tall. Also check out at end of hayride were the monster in the barn literally picks up the back of the haywagon and shakes it .Look at the huge oversized toilet , spits fire, we try to add some humor to mix it up and it lets you let your guard down then we hit you with a great scare. We work hard year round to make a great new show. Please vote for Rockin R Ranch Haunted Hayride www.spookyranch.com

The 13th Gate is what I consider the best indoor haunt on the planet! I thought Cydney Neil had it locked up forever, until I seen this amazing haunt.

My hats off to the team at 13th Gate, you guys deserve the top spot on this list.

I'm not sure if some of you guys are having your actors, family and friends vote because some ballots are the exact same as one right before it, just different email address. We might cast some of those out, but I've been overloaded here, we're in the hundreds of votes here.

I get 10 every five minutes it seems.

Yea Tony 13th Gate is insane. I thought it was amazing last November, then by Hauntcon they had totally redone about another 1/3 of it with crazy totally realistic detail. When it comes to movie quality absolutely REALISTIC sets I have seen none better, even from the late great Rocky Point.

Thanks!

Larry

why cast them out? maybe that's their way of showing support to their family.

plus, if the votes seem the same maybe they are just trying really hard to see a certain haunt on the list.

throwing out votes ...humm this sounds like some sort'a flordia voting deal! lol

throwing out votes is bad news and an untrusting thing to do larry. that's my two cents. now if you don't mind i'm off to vote.

Speculo
06-25-2008, 08:39 PM
Yea I bet there are tons of actors voting on this. If its a trend let the rest of us know, and we can collectively get all of our actors to get you Thousands of emails!

Let me know...I have a lot of actors!

OR

If it is a Hauntworld voting thing you could have only forum members vote, eliigible only if they had done like 100 posts....

Jim Warfield should then get a few extra votes I think!

Thanks!

you should be able to have friends and family vote,
just on the basis that it was not stated that couldn't be done.

I think it would be a huge honor to have winners selected by peers. It would also make the list relevant. Personally, I would like to see closed voting -registered Hauntworld users only (users with some sort of post history). No ballot box stuffing, No votes thrown out.

Larry, please let us know if you are going to allow anyone to vote, so we are on a level playing field.
