How important is data integrity to people these days? If info on your website is up-to-date, is that important?

I personally think that providing up-to-date information is more important than anything else. If you guys canít already tell, thatís a big pet peeve of mine and the main reason I developed my website.

There are a number of Haunt Directory websites that take the effort to make sure their visitors see only the most recent info. HauntedIllinois.com, HauntedWisconsin.com and ScaryOhio.com all reset their Haunt Directories every year, to eliminate the possibility of disseminating old data.

What other websites that you know of take steps to keep their information current? I know Hauntworld.com recently went through an exercise to have people police their listings. What have other sites done?

Unfortunately Iíve found other sites that seem to accumulate listings from year to year.

http://www.maggotmuncher.com
http://www.cryptcrawl.com/Haunted_Houses/
http://www.hauntedhousechicago.com

I think we owe the general public better than that and as Haunt Owners, I would hope you would agree.

Another good resource is www.MDHaunts.com

I know first hand they physically contact each haunt in their state each year. They setup separate interfaces for each featured haunt (which is the majority) and it's some of the best and detailed data collected for a haunt directory as a really nice resource. I like the professionalism they bring to that site.

Thanks a lot Rob, we appreciate the comment. I can understand and appreciate the effort that goes into updating a directory site like Adam's and the others every year. Some are easier to contact and get info from than others.

We're in the process as we speak getting new and final info. The one's Adam mentioned were very helpful in answering questions before I started the mdhaunts.com site.

Thanks,
Allan
