I feel almost embarrassed to ask this considering I've spent 10.5 yrs in the Army and countless field exercises spent in these things, but are the canvas military tents (GP's) fire resistant and if so, do they meet the fire code?

Thanks.

I would say yes only because it would be something that the army would want., but you could always treat the tent. You may want to treat it any way just to make sure, years of weather and sun may have removed all of the fire retardent.

If the Army tent is bullet-proof, you know it's then fireproof!
Although my little sister handling the claw-end of a claw hammer sure put holes in my big tent when I was a kid.
It looked like an Army tent, olive drab and everything....
