Sorry if this is in the wrong place, I am not sure where to post this kind of Q.

Where's the best place to find inexpensive haunting fabric? Or, to be more specific, I need burlap potato sacks for doing some monster mud statues.

I live in a rural area, but people who raise or board horses usually have burlap sacks they are willing to give away for free or next to it. Maybe searching for a local horse boarder in the yellow pages might lead you to one? Hope that helps! Good luck!

I purchase big sheets of burlap from my local nursery/garden center and it is very cheap.

I've been able to find both rolls and bags of burlap and our local Home Depot. Probably won't be on the shelves for the next couple months, but you could ask to see if they'll be getting any in stock.

You can find and buy burlap type material at your local Wal-Mart or most fabric stores. What is it your needing it for? Just wondering.

I bought some at a JoAnn fabric's. They don't have sacks though. It's 48" wide by how ever many yards you want, its comes in a couple different colors and it sanitized so you don't have those oils in it. It's about 3.99 a yard but if you sign up to get their coupons you can get it for 40-50% off. Just in case you can't find it

You have all been very helpful!
I am using the burlap for set design, costums, and props. This stuff is a god-send.

I got a coffee company near me that gives away burlap bags by the pallet full. The coffee beans are shipped to them in the bags, and then they have no use for them. It is the heavier kind of burlap, but it would be good for big MM projects.
