What, in your opinion, is the most overused room/scene used in haunted houses today?
I wish I could answer this, but I've only worked in one haunted house in my life, and we don't exactly have different themed rooms. They may be designed for different scares, but the entire attraction is built to look like a mix between a Victorian mansion and a decrepit old shack. If I had to guess, though, I would probably say the strobe light rooms are overdone.

There are so many... Decrepit dining rooms, padded mental ward rooms, 3D dot rooms, circus clown rooms, electric chair rooms, rooms with a creepy organ/piano player...

I agree, there are so many. Just speaking from within my own haunt I'd have to say I tire of people resting on peoples fear of clowns. (Granted I just spent a whole season in a clown room and there were some great moments) Chainsaws are over used but still in my opinion very functional.
