Well in the middle of the busiest time last evening, man did we have the scare of a lifetime. Another part of the building has an ADT alarm/fire system. The fog went over into that part of the building and set off the fire alarm. I was so proud of our crew; they had everyone out and away from the building within less than 30 seconds. Thank GOD it was a false alarm. Nonetheless, it was a scary experience and only had one pissed off customer. I can't say enough about our crew, especially because we have a lot of new family members. They just did an awesome job. I think it is very important to go over this every evening before you start. Make sure your equipment is where it's suppose to be during your inspection prior to opening. You never know when you might need it.

Making me do a lot of thinking about this new building and additional life safety equipment we will be installing. I am looking for a voice evacuation system to tie into our emergency system. I believe Oak Island had one at the show but if anyone else knows of another one, please pass the information along.

It was scareproducts.com who sells a complete system. Custom built, not off the shelf.

You need to have rate of rise heat detectors in order to use Fog in your house, Smoke detectors will always be triggered by fog.

Yes we do have rate of rise, but the other side of the building seem to hold the fog and a tenant in that side has the typical smoke detectors and the alarm system went off calling ADT and automatic fire alarm. That goodness we had a chief/EMT onsite and called the fire department off. Gave us a real life drill during the peek of the night. Atleast it was a false alarm and a GREAT learning experience. We cleared the building in less than 30 seconds with a lot of new actors. We were extremely pleased with our crew.

With the purchase of our new building, I want a voice system that tells the crew/customers to leave the building. I think it is much better than simple strobes and horns. If anyone has one, I would love to hear if they work well.
