    There are alot of ways to use the Jason persona, that can still nab people who have seen it a million times. You hate it cause it was done poorly and that's something that should be addressed. Its actually really easy if you are far bigger than the median build of your patrons, prone to heaving, bugged out 30 yard stares, vouge, and walking like gravity has a little more of an effect on you than everyone else.

    I agree that being a larger build helps with a larger than life character like Jason. Movement is key, since he doesn't really run. He slowly stalks with no real expression or haste, without any doubt he will catch his prey.

    True, with all the remakes now it seems that all the character traits are changing. Perhaps you could play the classic jason on some nights and the modern version on others!
